Local teen wins fashion competition

Hannah Henderson, of Rainsville, was the local winner in the Art Institute of Tennessee’s Passion for Fashion competition.

Henderson won in the fashion marketing and merchandising and retail management category.

Henderson won a $3000 scholarship to study fashion marketing and merchandising and retail management at the Art Institute of Tennessee in Nashville.

The competition required the entrants to create innovative and wearable evening wear pieces. The were also asked to create concepts to market and sell the products.

Henderson’s entry included her concept for a boutique — and bakery — called Styles by Hannah Ryles, to be located just off Broadway in downtown Nashville.

In addition to the scholarship, Henderson will move forward to compete against winners from around the country.
