Bill passed to improve Alabama film production

The Alabama House has passed a bill that aims to increase the film production industry in the state.

Represenative Terri Collins of Decatur sponsored the legislation.

The bill would expand Alabama's film and television production incentive cap from 10 to 25 million.

The bill would also double the amount that productions could spend and count towards tax rebates.

Northeast College allows musicians chance to play

Northeast College allows musicians chance to play

The Northeast Alabama Community College Jazz Band will allow musicians the chance to play on Monday.

The school will offer a Jazz Jam that will allow musicians to come out and play. The event will be held in the Music Auditorium at the W.M. Beck Health and Fine Arts Center on campus from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The theme for the night will be Stevie Wonder.

The event is free and open to the public.
