Sheriff's Citizens Academy to start Sept. 9 | Community Spirit
DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office will be offering the fall session of the Sheriff’s Citizens Academy on Monday nights, September 9 through November 4.
The Sheriff’s Citizens Academy educates DeKalb County citizens on how their sheriff’s office enforces the law. This event fosters support for the office, develops partnerships and enables all to work together to improve the quality of life for people in the area.
Classes to be offered include administration, patrol, communication, investigations, firearms, crime scenes, K-9 and drug agents, corrections, criminal and civil law, child abuse and sex offenders. All class members will be given the opportunity to ride along with patrol deputies during class sessions.
Openings are still available for the academy. An application can be filled out at the Sheriff’s office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
