65 year old DeKalb County man busted on drug charges

A 65 year old man is being held in the DeKalb County Jail, facing multiple drug possession counts.

Deputies were looking into a rash of burglaries in the Geraldine / Oak Hill area when they came knocking on Tommy George Lowery's door on County Road 28. Lowery allowed the deputies to search his home. Inside, they reportedly found Klonopin, Zanax, Valium, Methamphetamine (in its Ice form) and Marijuana.

Lowery was arrested and taken to the DeKalb County Detention Center on 5 counts of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  No bond has been set at this time. Additional charges are possible.

Sheriff Harris sends thanks to all the concerned citizens who have given information about illegal activity in the area and said that he hopes they will continue to do so.   Anyone who has a tip or helpful information is encouraged to call the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office at (256) 845-3801.
