Lite It Up Pink North Alabama

Lite It Up Pink North Alabama

This October breast cancer awareness month is taking on a whole new meaning to me. A good friend, someone I've known since I was a child, is undergoing a double mastectomy as I type. She's young, in her mid-30's, further proof breast cancer doesn't play favorites.

She's the second friend I've watched battle breast cancer in the past five years.

In college I watched my friend and 5 p.m anchor, Liz, fight a very public battle. Little did I know, years later I'd watch her council hundreds of women fighting the same fight.

By purchasing a pink bulb, you are helping raise money for equipment needed to detect breast cancer.

But when you Lite It Up Pink, you are doing more than raising money. You are showing support to the women fighting breast cancer. You are helping remember those who lost the battle.
