3 arrested in connection with pharmacy burglary | News
FORT PAYNE, AL (WAFF)- Three people face charges
in connection with a DeKalb County pharmacy burglary. It happened early Thursday
morning at the Kilgore Pharmacy on Greenhill Boulevard in Fort Payne.
Police said they got a tip
about the burglary from a concerned citizen.
According to authorities, three suspects wearing
masks entered the pharmacy by breaking the front door. They were carrying
containers and raking shelves of prescription drugs.
Police said they also
stole the cash register.
"It's just kind of
part of the landscape today. There's so much abuse of those products and many
times when they can't access them other ways they resort to burglaries and that kind of thing," said
Lotha Kilgore, owner of Kilgore Pharmacy.
Authorities chased and
caught the suspects in Tennessee. They were brought back to Fort Payne, but so
far no formal charges have been filed.
