DeKalb County drug agents arrested five people following a raid at a home on County Road 15, just east of Sardis City.

According to Sheriff Jimmy Harris, deputies were following up on tips about children being exposed to a drug lab.

The home owner let police inside, and they soon found syringes, meth and a meth lab hidden in a closet.

Deputies arrested Timothy Dell Buckelew, age 45 of Horton, Brandon Wayne Wilemon, age 30 of Boaz, Rachel Dawn Anderson, age 19 of Boaz, Deana Lynn Herring, age 25 of Boaz, and James Grant Hathcock, age 34 of Boaz. They were all taken to DeKalb County Detention Center where they were all charged with Unlawful Manufacturing of Controlled Substance 2nd, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, and Drug Paraphernalia.

“Although there were no children at the residence when this took place I hate to know that children may have even been at the residence." Sheriff Harris said in a prepared release. " I would like to thank the citizens of the community for their concerns and calling things like this into the Sheriff’s Office. It’s because of these calls that we can be successful in making these arrests.”
